Fiesta de Natividad in San Miguel de Allende
December is a popular month filled with events and festivities. Festivities begin on December 16, with the traditional posadas. meaning "inn" represent the nine day journey of Mary and Joseph to Bethlehem. The Posadas includes pastoral plays, music, canticles and parades. Also the ceromonial lighting of the christmas tree in front of La Parroquio de San Miguel Arcangel and its traditional Festival of chamber music. The Chamber Music Festival takes place the last two weeks in December at the Angela Peralta Theater. Tickets are reasonably priced and three of the regular concerts will be free. Enjoy concerts and performances by musicians from around the world. The Chamber Music Festival has been recognized by the Mexican government as the country’s best festival of classical music. |
